Quality is always better than quantity!

When joining an online dating site for the first time it can be overwhelming, confusing and exciting. If you have a great profile and market yourself wisely, you might find that you receive many emails at the beginning. When you are a newbie, everyone seems to notice you.

You also might see lots of members that you want to email or instant message. The key is to eventually narrow it down to a few candidates. If you are communicating with more than 2 or 3, I can tell you from experience you will end up confusing them and appearing too scattered. It can be very tempting but also extremely stressful. A few years ago, I remember chatting with 6 different people from free dating sites in one day. You will more than likely have to kiss alot of princes or princesses but try to keep it to a moderate level for your sanity!!

I do recommend trying various online dating sites both paid and free ones to see where you feel most comfortable. There are alot of quality free ones out there today and so you can gain alot of exposure this way!

Online dating and socializing is a fun way to meet people. I have met alot of great people thru chats, IM, e-mail. You can talk to anyone from your own back yard to the other side of the world. Granted it can be dangerous if you do not follow the rules, but so is conventional dating. I wont meet someone within the first week of chatting. And never meet anyone alone...always bring a friend and meet in a public place. Stick to those little rules and you should stay safe. There are more pros to online dating and socializing than there are cons. It is so much fun. You should try it.
